SAAJE, a non profit association, was founded to promote Japanese language and culture education in Southern Arizona. Its membership includes professionals and nonprofessionals involved in the Japanese language, in traditional Japanese arts and crafts, and in historical and contemporary Japanese culture. Additionally, the SAAJE website provides an integrated guide to language classes, cutural events, clubs and associations, and goods and services related to an interest in Japan. |
| News/Event/Meeting Japanese Consul Speaking at the 10th Tucson Japanese Speech Contest Consul Deputy Director, Kumiko Nakamura, from the Japanese Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles will attend the contest to make opening remarks to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Consul Nakamura will be joined by Pima Community College Interim Chancellor, Dr. Suzanne Miles, and others. The 10th Anniversary of the Annual Tucson Japanese Speech Contest will take place at Pima Community College's East Campus, the site where the 1st TJSC was held.
